Denise is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Life Coach Master Trainer (Prevention of Chronic Disease), clinical cancer support group facilitator and a community wellness activist. She is the founding Director of the counseling program (VMWC) under the Village Health Foundation (VHF) a Los Angeles based community acupuncture clinic. Also, she is a founding member of three international community programs (GEEC/ Global Education Exchange Coalition, S.T.E.A.M program, Yoga Healing Arts, Clinical Counseling Exchange) currently operating in South Africa which she has traveled annually for the past 5 years.

She earned her MA in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Community Psychology, and BS in Political Science from Spelman College. Denise managed the transitional housing and AAA/ISM program at the VHF that is dedicated to making integrative holistic health care modalities available to underserved communities. She was previously the program director for Community Build Youth & Community Center 2000- 2010 where she developed the college preparation and retention program that assisted thousands of families with community resources.

As a counselor for United Friends of the Children from 2010-2012 she provided supportive services for college bound foster students. Denise is a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor for 19 years, under the tutelage of master teacher trainer Krishna Karr. She provides instruction through workshops and classes to students ranging from ages 2 to 102. Her weekly classes are currently held at In The Meantime Men’s group and Angelus Plaza Senior Activity Center. Denise facilitates workshops & retreats for numerous organizations both domestic and international with an emphasis on self-care, brain health, trauma and life style changes. Her motto is;
