Our Staff

We are staffed by licensed acupuncturists and health educators knowledgeable in the benefits of nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal therapies, and other beneficial natural treatments. Our acupuncturists are primary healthcare practitioners licensed by the State of California. We are trained, certified, and licensed to provide primary healthcare for children and adults of all ages.

Jewel Thais-Williams, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac, M.S.O.M
Jewel has a BA in History from UCLA. She was graduated from Samra University with an MSOM degree after extensive studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and received her Acupuncture license from the State of California in 1999. She has been both a co-founder and a board member of the following organizations: Unity Fellowship Church, The Minority AIDS Project, UCLA’s Lambda Alumni Assoc., Rue’s House, Ladies Concerned, and Imani Unidos. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Village Health Foundation.

Maria Elena Rondon, L.Ac.
Maria received her degree in Jurisprudence from U.C.V., the University Central of Venezuela. She practiced law for fifteen years in Caracas, and taught Tai Chi. She came to the United States in 1997 to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was graduated from Samra University in 2002.

Chung Hee Yi, L.Ac.
Chung Hee was born in Pusan, Korea. She studied Korean Literature at EWHA Women’s University, during which time she spent a year abroad as an exchange student in the United States. After her graduation with an undergraduate equivalent in Korean Literature, she returned to the U.S. and later received a master’s degree in Oriental medicine at Samra University. Yi volunteered on an AIDS project for one year, before she began her two-year volunteer stint at the Village Health Foundation. She is currently on staff.

Professor Jevons Li, L.Ac., OMD (China)
Dr. Li received his medical degree in China and studied at the Traditional Chinese Orthopedics Department of the Beijing Chao Yang District, Guanxiang Hospital. He has a long history of experience in Oriental Medicine, particularly Oriental Orthopedics. He is currently our clinical director and teaches acupuncture techniques in the English and Chinese Sections.

Like He, L.Ac.
Dr. He was trained in China as a Western Medical doctor (acupuncturist). He specialized in orthopedics and neurological surgury. Upon coming to this country he taught anatomy to medical students at Ohio State University. He completed his studies at Samra University where he now teaches and is a Clinical Supervisor. Currently he is studying for the medical exam and once licensed, will practice Integrative Medicine. Oriental Medicine is his first love.
Dr. He has relocated to Iowa to continue his studies for his Western Medical License. We wish him, and his family well.
